Our Mission
Founded in 1997, California Electrial Inspectors (CEI) is a non-profit technical and educational organization cooperating in the formulation, adoption and uniform application of codes and standards, in the state of California, for the safe installation and use of electricity.
Objectives
- To study and analyze State of California Legislation regarding codes and regulations affecting the electrical industry and to report its findings and recommendations to members, legislators and other concerned persons or organizations.
- To conduct surveys and seminars related to the California Codes and regulations affecting the electrical industry for code enforcement officials and design professionals and the interested public to assist them in interpreting legislation in the electrical construction field.
- To assist its membership in State of California with problems which may not be serviced by the Southwestern Section of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
- To recognize that there are unique areas of concern in the State of California where issues are better resolved on a statewide basis and to participate through members appointed by a majority of the Board of Directors, in development of State regulations that amend or supplement the model codes and address California State issues not serviced by the model codes organizations.
- To promote within the State of California the purposes and objectives of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, and the welfare of the IAEI Chapters within the State of California.
In memoriam: Rex Wyatt
Rex E. Wyatt, Sr. passed away on September 24, 2007, at the age of 50 in Mariposa, California. He was a past president of CEI, and served on the Board for many years. Rex was a wonderful teacher, who had a big heart for the industry. He devoted a lot of energy and time to the betterment of the organization. [more...]
